Draper Temple

On Saturday we were able to take the girls and tour the draper temple. Kaelynn was very excited to be able to go into the temple. As we drove to the church to park we were preparing the girls on how to act at the temple. The girls had fun riding on the bus that took us from the church to the temple. I do have to say that at first it was a little wierd to have my girls in the temple, but in a good way. I was very glad that I was able to share in this experience with them and I hope that they also enjoyed it and will remember it.

Kaelynn and Hailey were very cute as we were going through the temple. We were given a flyer with picture of the rooms and descriptions. As we went into every room they would get out their flyer and find that picture.

Kaelynn said that her favorite room was the one with the HUGE chandelier (also know as the celestial room). I would have to agree with her. I am very gald that I was able to go with Nate and the girls, it was a great experience to share with them.

Catching up

It has been awhile since I have posted anything. This post is mainly for me to keep it up to date.

Several weeks ago we babysat my sisters dog for a weekend. I was a little nervous about it, but the girls had a lot of fun playing with her. I decided that dog sitting is the way to go. The kids get to play with the dog and then by the time they are used to the dog being around it is time for them to go home and back to our normal life.

Several weeks ago I also had parent teacher conference for Kaelynn. As I am walking down the hall to go to her classroom I see my name and it catches my eye. This is what I saw hanging on the wall.

I had to hold back tears because I was about to talk to her teacher. She is such a sweet girl. She is very thoughtful and loves to write nice letters to all of us. Her teacher only had great things to say about her.

Chloe has had many ear infections and a double ear infection that would not go away since January, so she had tubes put in last Tuesday. I was excited to hopefully be able to start sleeping again, but that is not the case. She has had a very bad case of diarrea for the past week and a half. Hopefully soon she will be back to normal. On a good note her ears are doing much better!

My parents have turned in their papers to serve a mission. We should find out any day to see where they are going and I am very anxious.

9 months old!

Time goes by so fast. Chloe is really starting to get her own personality and it is fun to watch her. She is very busy all the time. She is now crawling very well, pulling herself up on everything, clapping, waving, talking and laughing. It is very cute to watch Kaelynn and Hailey play with her now that she is more expressive.
Here are some other pictures that were taken a month ago, but I think that they are cute. I also realized that I do not post very many picture of her, which I should do more.

Sick, Sick and more sick

Can I say that I am ready for spring! This past week we have all been sick, except for Nate, he rarely gets sick. To start off Chloe has had a cough and runny nose for 3 weeks, and Hailey was also not feeling well so I took them to the doctor last week. Chloe had really bad double ear infections (third month in a row for ear infections) and Hailey had croup. Even though Chloe is on a strong antibiotic she is still coughing, and occasionally throwing up. On Sunday night I came down with the 24 hour flu, and Kaelynn had a fever and wasn't feeling good either. Luckily Nate was able to stay home from work on Monday to take care of all of us. I am very grateful for that, because I have no idea what I would have done with out him.

We are all feeling much better now. Just some lingering coughs.

On top of all of that my computer caught a virus. This has consumed a lot of my time trying to get rid of it. Luckily my brother-in-law fixes computers and so he was able to stop by and try to work on it for several hours last night. Thank you Jared for all your help! It is doing much better but there are still a few problems that I think might never go away. Might be time for a new computer!

Last week I finally got my hair cut and highlighted, but I have been in the house with sick kids so I have not gone anywhere. So here is a picture of my new hair style.

Hailey's surgery

This will hopefully be the last update on Hailey's ears. We were supposed to have her surgery on December 30th but we got to the hospital and she had a really bad cough so they were not able to do the surgery. We were a little sad becuase that meant that we would have to pay our deductible again, but it is better for her to be health and safe. We ended up having her surgery on Jan. 13th. Everything went very well and she now has her 4th set of tubes and they also removed her adnoids, so hopefully this will solve her problems. She has been doing great and her recovery was very fast.

Better Late than Never!

So I am finally getting around to posting about Christmas. I know that it was more than a month ago, but better late than never!

Here are the girls dressed up in their Christmas dresses.

For Christmas we drove down to California to spend Christmas with Nate's family. This was the first Christmas in the past 6 years that we were able to spend with Nate's family. We were all very excited to go. While we were there we celebrated our 8th anniversary, and were able to go out for dinner since we had a lot of babysitters. We had a great Christmas and had fun decorating stockings, acting out the nativity, hand dipping spoons and pretzels, having the 1st annual polar bear swim, going to In-N-Out, and spending a lot of time with family.

While I was there I also started to read the Twilight book series. This is probably the best reason while my christmas post is so late. I couldn't stop until I read all 4 books, which I finally finished last week and then I was getting my house put back together.

Happy Birthday Hailey!!

Today is Hailey's birthday. She is finally 4. Yesterday we had put her birthday presents under the tree and she spent most of the day analysing them. Last night after we put Hailey to bed she came down stairs and said that she couldn't sleep. She was way too excited about her birthday. I told her that after I put Chloe to sleep I would come and lay by her (usually this works becuase by that time she is already asleep). But not last night. I put Chloe in her crib and Hailey was wide awake so I laid by her and she said, "Mom can we talk about my birthday".

I let her pick what she wanted for dinner. I was listing off several things like pizza, McDonalds or Wendys and she said that she wanted to go to Panda Express.

Today Hailey had a small birthday party with her friends from preschool. She had a great time.

Fun facts about Hailey:

1. She is very sarcastic. One day she was asking me lots of questions and one of my answers was I don't know. She then responded "See Mom you DONT know everything!" I just started laughing. Now that is her responce anytime I say "I don't know."

2. She is a fighter. She loves to wrestle with Nate, and will pick fights with him. No matter what he does to her she will come back for more. If she ends up crying she will come to me and I say well go get Dad, she will get a smile on her face and go after him.

3. She loves to read. After putting her to bed we give her a stack of books and she will sit in her bed and read them out loud to herself. Kaelynn and Hailey share a room, but we put them to sleep in different rooms because Hailey reads.

We are very glad that Hailey is in our family. She can always make us laugh. She is a great sister. We love you Hailey. Happy Birthday!
