True Blue!

I got a free quart of paint from an online offer. I had planned to paint one of my bathrooms with it. I picked out the color online that looked like the color that I wanted. This is how it turned out...

(notice that the paint matches the painters tape!)

Nate was wearing a very blue shirt and I noticed that it was the same color of my wall, so he stood there and it was a match.

After seeing the color and realizing that it was BYU blue, I was tempted to make it a BYU bathroom just for the BYU football season.

But this is more what I had in mind.....

Where did the Summer go?

Well I think that it is finally about time that I updated my blog. It has been a VERY busy summer for us. Here is a quick review of what we have been up to this summer.
We started the summer off by celebrating Kaelynn's 7th birthday. She was very excited for her birthday and was counting down the days.
She was able to celebrate with a few of her friends from our neighborhood. She had a High School Musical birthday party since she loves the movies.

Chloe has turned into a very active 1 year old, who likes to get into everything. It does not suprise me that she is the first one of our kids to end up with a black eye. She was trying to play like all the other big girls and go hit by a swing right below her eye. Sure enough she got a black eye that lasted for about 2 -3 weeks. (These are not the greatest pictures, but you can see it a little bit. I do have to say that it looked a lot worse.)

July came as a very busy month. It started out with Nate, Hailey and I being very sick with strep thoat, and wanting to die. Luckily I had great friends who helped us out. Then, I helped in planning a fundraiser dinner and auction for my ward, which turned out very well. But I am glad that it is over, and that we can only have 1 a year! (Thank you to everyone who came and supported the youth.) Right after that was Girls Camp. This was the longest amount of time that I was away from Nate and the girls. I missed them very much but I did have a good time at girls camp and had a lot of fun with the YW. After girls camp it was a rush to try and finish plans for youth conference.

When I came home from girls camp I realized that Hailey's hair looked a little different. She seemed to have more bangs than she used to. But she kept insisting that no one cut her hair. The next day I still wasn't completly convinced, so I kept on asking. Come to find out Kaelynn decided to give her a little hair cut. We have never had problems with sicssors or cutting hair before this, so at least it wasn't that bad. She actually looked cute with bangs and so we decided to add to it and get her hair cut.

After a very crazy month we were able to go on a much needed vacation. We went to visit Nate's family in California. All of his family was there and we were able to celebrate several family members birthdays. We had a great time and enjoyed swimming and spending time with family!

Called to Serve

My parents (along with my brother and his wife) arrived in Utah late Thursday night and stayed with my sister in Park City. On Friday we went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House, and we all came back to my house for dinner. On Saturday we spent the day up in Park City at my sisters. On Sunday everyone came to church with us including my grandma and her husband. It was fun to spend the weekend with family.

On Sunday after dinner we even got my grandma and her husband to play the wii. It was fun to watch them.

Grandma and Grandpa Knudsen with our girls.

On Monday we took my parents to the MTC. They will be going to South Africa. Since there is a problem with the swine flu there, we had to say goodbye at the door. I never thought that I would be dropping my parents off in Provo.

Grandma and Grandpa we will miss you. We love you!!

You will be great missionaries!

Family pictures

One of my friends from high school took our family pictures. She did a great job! It has been a long time since we have had a family picture taken. Now I know why... It is not fun. I don't blame my kids because I don't like to sit and have my picture taken either. It seems like a lot of work and stress to get everyone ready and then be happy and smile for pictures. There were alot of pictures and they were all great but in almost every picture there was someone not looking, making a funny face, crying, or had their eyes closed. We did get a few that everyone looks pretty good. I want to thank my friend for putting up with all of us (and the mosquitos) and taking our pictures. She is a great photographer. (You can check out more of her work at http://www.seenboxphotography.com/)

Here are some of our favorite pictures:

Summer is finally here!!!

Today was Kaelynn's last day of First grade! Everyone warned me when she was a baby that time would go by so fast. I did not believe them, because the days seemed to go by so slowly. Now I have changed my opinion and agree. I can't believe that in just a couple of months she will be starting second grade!

But now that school is out, let the fun begin! Today we got out the slip-n-slide and Chloe's baby pool. It was a nice day and it is nice to not have to worry about schedules and homework.

Makenzie and Kaelynn relaxing on the slip-n-slide.

What a cute little girl!! (I am a little bias)

One crazy busy month!

So the month of May is a busy one for our family. We celebrated Chloe's birthday, then my birthday a few day later. Nate's mom came into town for a few days, and it was nice to see her. That same day my parents and sister came into town. My sister and her family stayed with us for the weekend. It was good to spend time with family.

Nate (with the help of our neighbor) has been working on building us a shed. They are doing a very nice job and it is looking very nice.

Kaelynn had a dance festival at school. Nate was not able to go and watch it this year, but Kaelynn did a great job and it was cute to watch her.

This past weekend we celebrated Nate's birthday and were able to go out on a date thanks to some nice friends who watched our girls. And last but not least I was called to be the Young Women's President in our ward. It came a a big shock to me and I have been a little overwhelmed. My counselors are great and so that is going to be a great help to me.

Happy Birthday Chloe!!

This past year has gone so fast. I can not believe that my baby is finally 1. We love having Chloe in our family. She has been such a good baby and brings a lot of laughter to our family. She is now walking pretty good and loves to try to get into everything.

We love you Chloe and wish you a Happy Birthday!!
